§ Mr. Goodhart[pursuant to his reply. 6 November 1979, c. 149]: Under existing legislation, the Department of the Environment for Northern Ireland has powers to erect bus shelters or to give permission for their erection. The Department has not used its powers to build bus shelters, although some proposals are under examination. However, the Department has given permission to some district councils to build shelters.
