§ Mr. Jim LesterAt 11 October, 1,121 males and 601 females were registered as unemployed at the Mexborough employment office. The corresponding figures for Wombwell were 532 and 247. Most unemployed young people under age 18, in these areas register at the Doncaster, Rotherham and Barnsley careers offices and are not included in these figures.
