§ Mr. Haynesasked the Secretary of State for Social Services, in view of the non-availability of routine dental care for some mentally handicapped patients in hospitals in the Central Nottinghamshire health district, if he will make arrangements with local general practitioner dentists to fulfil this role.
§ Sir George YoungLocal general dental practitioners have been asked to provide such care, but only one is willing 157W to do so. Nottinghamshire AHA(T) hopes shortly to appoint an assistant dental surgeon/senior dental officer with responsibility for mentally handicapped patients in the Central Nottinghamshire district. This should greatly improve the service provided.
