§ Mr. YoungerNo. As my noble Friend the Minister of State told the Herring Buyers' Association in his letter of 19 October, the special help which it has sought would be inconsistent with the Government's policy on aid to industry and would involve heavy additional expenditure which we cannot afford. The herring processors continue to be eligible for the same aids as are available to industry generally.
