asked the Secretary of State for Trade which Ministers will attend the current United Nations conference on Trade and development in Manila; when; and for how long.

Mr. Nott

My hon. Friend the Minister of State, Department of Trade, will arrive in Manila on 29 May and will lead the United Kingdom delegation until the conference ends.

Mr. Freud

asked the Secretary of State for Trade what policies the Government will put forward at UNCTAD V in

cif)—with other EEC countries in 1978 in sections 5–8 inclusive of the standard international trade classification (revision 2) and the various divisions comprising them. I prefer not to venture an estimate of the future movements of the balance.

Manila, particularly in respect of the relationship between the developing and Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development countries.

Mr. Parkinson

, pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 24 May 1979], gave the following information:

With other developed countries in the European Community and more widely in OECD, the Government are seeking to make a constuctive response at the conference to the proposals which the developing countries have made.
