§ Mr. HayhoeThe Territorial and Army Volunteer Reserve has a crucial role to play in the successful execution of our defence policy. The Government will seek to maintain its efficiency, to improve its equipment and to encourage recruitment and prolongation of service. To this end, urgent consideration is now being given to the recommendations of the Shapland report.
