asked the Secretary of State for Wales what is his estimate of the opening date of the new school for the deaf at Mold, Clwyd; what are the numbers likely to be on the roll; and what are the numbers of teaching staff likely to be employed, the cost of the school and the cost of specialist equipment required.

The new school for the deaf at Mold, Clwyd, is expected to open in September, 1979 and will provide 40 day and 12 residential places. The total estimated cost is £225,000 which includes £49,000 specialist equipment. No estimate of teaching staff is available as yet.
