HC Deb 25 May 1979 vol 967 c288W
Mr. Best

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what further plans he has to safeguard British shores against the dangers of oil spillage and pollution from tankers.

Mr. Fox

This Department, and those of my right hon. Friends the Secretaries of State for Scotland and Wales, are consulting the local authority associations about reviewing contingency plans for dealing with oil pollution of beaches. Contingency plans for dealing with oil spillages at sea are a matter for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Trade.
