Mr. Mellor

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he has received the inspector's report following the public inquiry into the proposed fourth terminal at Heathrow airport; and if he will make a statement.

The report of Mr. Iain Glidewell QC, the independent inspector who conducted the inquiry, was received on 18 May 1979. The decision on the BAA's application for planning permission will be taken by my right hon. Friends the Secretaries of State for the Environment and Trade in the light of full consideration of this report.
