HC Deb 25 May 1979 vol 967 c278W
Mr. Gordon Wilson

asked the Secretary of State for Energy what flaring agreements have been reached since 2 May; what fields have been affected; and what will be the estimated daily quantity of gas flared in each field.

Mr. Moore

The Brent—430 mcfd—and Forties—110mcfd—gas flaring consents which expire on 31 May 1979 will be extended for one month pro rata to the expected oil production rates. Most other oilfields' gas flaring consents expire on 30 June 1979 and are being reviewed along with those for Brent and Forties. UKCS operators will be expected to maintain and, where there have been delays, hasten progress toward the sale and or injection of associated gas and NGLs.
