§ Mr. WhitelawI refer the hon. and learned Member to the reply that my hon. Friend the Minister of State gave to a question by the hon. Member for Hackney, South and Shoreditch on 22 May—[Vol. 967, c.105.]—and the reply I gave to a question by the hon. Member for Halifax (Dr. Summerskill) today. In the light of the sub-committee's investigation, I shall consider whether any extension is required of the powers already available to fire authorities under the Fire Precautions Act 1971.
