§ Mr. Skeetasked the Minister of Transport what he proposes to do about the traffic congestion occurring daily at the junction of the A6 and Oakley Road. Clapham, Bedford; and when a bypass for the village is expected to be undertaken.
§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeI am hoping that the Bedfordshire county council, as the Department's agents, will shortly carry out a traffic survey in this area. When the results of this have been analysed, the possibility of improvements to reduce traffic congestion will be investigated.
There are at present no plans for a bypass of Clapham.
