§ Mr. Michael Brownasked the Minister of Transport (1) if he will make a statement about the Government's motorway proposals for the South Humberside area;
(2) what priority his Department is giving to early completion of the M180 road bridge over the River Trent;
(3) when he anticipates that the M180 bridge over the River Trent will be completed;
(4) what is the approximate opening date of the M180 road bridge over the River Trent.
§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeTwenty three miles of the M180 South Humberside motorway are already open to traffic. The remaining five miles, which include a bridge over the River Trent, are under construction. I appreciate the urgent need for completion of this section of the road. We hope to open the road and one carriageway of the bridge in late July this year and complete the other carriageway over the bridge in the autumn.
