§ Mr. Nicholas Wintertonasked the Minister of Transport what action he intends to take to enable the Macclesfield borough council to organise a public participation exercise in respect of road proposals for the borough with particular reference to the north/south relief road and the east/west link road.
§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeCheshire county council, as highway authority, has already published orders for the proposed east-west link road following a public exhibition last December. We are in touch with the district council about trunk road proposals for north-south relief, and I will let my hon. Friend know the outcome as soon as possible.
