§ Mr. Alexander FletcherThe following companies are known by my Department to have established units in Dundee in the past three years:
Name Year Petrie Engineering Ltd. 1978 Koyo (UK) Ltd. 1978 Nasbrit Ltd. 1977 I do not have figures of the numbers these companies currently employ, but they are expected eventually to provide about 170 jobs. In addition, plans by companies already located in Dundee to expand or modernise, which have come to my Department's attention in the past year, should create or safeguard a further 770 jobs.
§ Mr. Ernie Rossasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what plans he has to visit Dundee to discuss with the local district council and the trade unions the problem of unemployment in Dundee.
