§ 23. Mr. Grimondasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what proposals he has to assist farmers suffering loss owing to the weather, lack of fodder and the delayed payment of allowances, due to the Civil Service dispute.
§ Mr. YoungerThe problems confronting hill farmers were discussed at a meeting on 15 May between senior officials of the four United Kingdom Agricultural Departments and representatives of the National Farmers' Unions. My ministerial colleagues and I are now giving urgent consideration to the whole question.
