§ 6. Mr. Skeetasked the Secretary of State for Energy what study he has made of the Three Mile Island reactor incident in Pennsylvania, United States of America, in so far as it is relevant to the addition of a pressurised water reactor in the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. David HowellThe Nuclear Installations Inspectorate, the Nuclear Power Company and the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority will be providing considered assessments of the accident at the Three Mile Island nuclear power station as soon as they are in a position to do so, and the Central Electricity Generating Board is considering the implications for its safety procedures. The lessons to be learnt from the incident will need to be studied carefully in the light of these reports.
