asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what proportion of the people of England, Scotland and Wales, respectively, have reached pensionable age.

The percentage of the population in England, Scotland and Wales respectively who were over pensionable age—60 for women and 65 for men—in 1977, the latest date for which figures are available, is as follows:
