asked the Secretary of State for Trade what quantity of harp seal products is imported into the United Kingdom from Canada.

Imports of harp seals and their products are not separately distinguished in the United KingdomOverseas Trade Statistics. Following are the numbers of fur skins of sea-lions, fur-seals and other seals imported from Canada as country of origin in the period February 1978-January 1979:

Complete raw fur skins 19,347
Tanned or dressed fur skins* 405
* Including fur skins assembled in plates. crosses and similar forms.
