§ Mrs. Bainasked the Secretary of State for Industry when he expects a decision to be reached on the various options proposed in British Shipbuilders' corporate plan; what recent discussions he has had with (a) unions and (b) management on the proposals; and on how many occasions he has had meetings with Scottish shipbuilding interests on these matters.
§ Mr. Les HuckfieldA statement on the shipbuilding industry will be made as soon as possible. We have had discussions with relevant trade unions and British Shipbuilders about the corporate plan. We also have met two Scottish delegations on shipbuilding matters.
