§ Mr. George Robertsonasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he is aware of any EEC or domestic payments available for the destruction of glasshouses in market gardening.
§ Mr. StrangNo national or EEC grants are available simply for destroying glasshouses. However, under the Ministry's horticulture capital grant and farm and horticulture development schemes, grants are available to eligible horticulturists towards the cost of replacing glasshouses, including that part of the cost attributable to the demolition of the old glasshouses. Grants made under the farm and horticulture development scheme are partly EEC funded.
