HC Deb 23 March 1979 vol 964 c211W
Mrs. Renée Short

asked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will take steps to penalise British companies which manufacture goods in cheap labour countries and then dump these goods in the United Kingdom, thereby causing increased unemployment and industrial dislocation here.

Mr. Meacher

Any imported goods, whether or not outward-processed, can be made subject to anti-dumping procedures, and if on investigation by the EEC Commission such claims are substantiated an anti-dumping duty can be imposed.
