§ Mr. Kenneth Clarkeasked the Secretary of State for Trade what is the policy of the Government on future levels of imports of cotton yarn from the People's Republic of China; and how it is proposed to accommodate any increase in those imports within the present EEC arrangements and import ceilings.
§ Mr. MeacherWe shall want cotton yarn to be subject to a quota in any textiles agreement with China, and any such agreement to be consistent with the European Community's textiles policy as a whole.
