Mr. Brotherton

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what has been the total cost to public funds of renovations to the Coal Exchange in Cardiff to date in 1979.

Mr. Marks

Some £42,000 has been spent on the renovation of the Exchange to date, of which £307 was spent in 1979.

Mr. Brotherton

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the total number of people who have been employed on the renovation of the Coal Exchange in Cardiff since the decision to use it as the place for the proposed Welsh Assembly; and what is the total wages and salaries bill that has been paid.
