§ Mr. Wardasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will publish in the Official Report, a list of parliamentary constituencies with electorates, according to the 1979 register of electors, which are above or below the quota determined by the Boundary Commissions, ranked by the size of excess or deficiency.
§ Mr. JohnProvisional figures for the 1979 electoral register, including numbers and percentages by which each constituency exceeds or falls short of the electoral quota, will be published in an OPCS monitor by the Office of Population Censuses and Surveys in the next few months. Such constituencies on the 1978 electoral register may be identified from the OPCS Monitor on Electoral Statistics, reference EL 78/2, copies of which are in the Library of the House. This monitor was expanded last year to include the numbers and percentages by which every constituency exceeds or falls short of the electoral quota, in recognition of the interest of Members in this information which will be included again this year.
