§ Mrs. Dunwoodyasked the Minister of Overseas Development if, in view of the widespread disregard for human rights in Indonesia, she will review the amount of aid granted to that country.
§ Mrs. HartI shall continue to take into account the human rights situation in Indonesia in determining the size of our 521W aid programme there. I believe that the fact that the situation has recently been improving is due at least partly to our frequent representations and those of others; and we shall exert all possible influence in securing further improvements. Indonesia remains one of the poorest and most populous developing countries; and the chief aim of our programme there is to help raise the living standards of the poorest sections of the community, particularly in rural areas.
§ Mrs. Dunwoodyasked the Minister of Overseas Development how much aid Indonesia received in 1978; and in what form.
