HC Deb 19 March 1979 vol 964 c405W
Mr. Adley

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) what is the cost to public funds of the book of prison slang produced by his Department for prison visitors;

(2) how many copies of the book of prison slang have been printed by his Department; how he intends to distribute it; and if he has plans for further similar books relating to other sections of his Department.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

The cost to public funds of producing the glossary of terms and slang common in penal establishments was £177.78. Three thousand copies were printed; the majority have already been distributed to members of boards of visitors, for whom the glossary was devised. I have no plans for any other such glossaries
