HC Deb 19 March 1979 vol 964 cc426-7W
Mrs. Renée Short

asked the Secretary of State for Industry, if he is satisfied with the small number of trade union officials invited to the recent microprocessors and jobs conference; and if he will ensure that as many representatives of the people whose jobs are most likely to be affected by microprocessors, namely, the shop floor workers, as industrialists are in future invited to such conferences.

Mr. Les Huckfield

The Government are currently discussing with the TUC how best trade unionists and shop floor workers can participate in the national awareness campaign. The Government fully accept the importance of targeting the campaign to employees as much as employers.
