Mr. Gould

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what allocations were made for 1977 and 1978 and are being made for 1979 to Southampton district council for the purpose of building houses for sale or rent, for modernising existing houses and for repairs and improvements, if any; and how many houses or other units of accommodation were built and modernised for each of these years broken down, if possible, with accommodation provided for families, pensioners etc.

Following are the relevant cash limits:

investment programme submission (a copy of which is available in the Library) recorded 223 dwellings improved in 1977–78 and envisaged a similar number in 1978–79. An analysis of these figures by type and size of accommodation is not readily available.
