asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he estimates that the administrative and ancillary services in the National Health Service hospitals are overmanned.

Information in respect of treatment provided during 1978 is currently being provided by health authorities, but it will be some time before the full details are assembled. I shall write to my hon. Friend when the information is available.
