HC Deb 12 March 1979 vol 964 cc51-2W
Mr. Radice

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what were the amounts of (a) revenue and (b) capital expenditure, at constant prices for each

not a matter of remuneration but rather a matter of the employer providing the necessary tools of the trade;

(2) if he will explain why the question of the appropriate mileage allowance to be paid to community nurses for use of their own cars on National Health Service duty should be treated as part of the nurses' current pay claim and not as a necessary tool of their trade as in private industry.

Mr. Deakins

Mileage allowances are negotiated separately from pay.

Mr. David Price

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is the current mileage allowance paid to community nurses for use of their own cars on National Health Service duty; and how it compares with the equivalent mileage allowance paid to civil servants within his own Department.

Mr. Deakins

I refer the hon. Member to my reply to the hon. Member for Pudsey (Mr. Shaw) on 5 March 1979.—[Vol. 963, c.519.]
