§ Mr. Dykesasked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will make a statement on the prospects of reaching agreement, in the EEC Council of Ministers, on Community accession to the United Nations code of conduct for liner shipping.
§ Mr. John SmithI reported on the recent Council discussions on the code question in my answer to the hon. Member for Middleton and Prestwich (Mr. Callaghan).—[Vol. 963, c.259–60.] The prospects for agreement have much improved but certain points remain to be settled. The Council is now unlikely to revert to the question until April.
