HC Deb 12 March 1979 vol 964 cc5-6W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Prime Minister (1) whether, in the light of the recent referenda on devolution for Wales and Scotland, he will reactivate the Kilbrandon Commission to ascertain what action should now be taken by Her Majesty's Government;

(2) whether, in the light of the result of the referenda on devolution for Scotland and Wales, he will recall the Kilbrandon Commission and ask it to give further investigation on the subject of devolution for the whole of Great Britain.

The Prime Minister

As it is more than five years since the Kilbrandon Commission reported, I do not think this would be appropriate.
