§ Mr. Kenneth Clarkeasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what steps the Government propose to take to deal with the shortage of chiropodists in the National Health Service.
§ Mr. DeakinsPolicy is to increase the numbers of chiropodists partly by expanding output from existing schools and partly by opening new schools. A new school with 15 places—rising to 24 after three years—opened in Huddersfield last year, plans for a new school in Plymouth48W are well advanced, and I understand that plans are being made for a new school in East Sussex.
