Traffic has been increasing relatively faster at Stansted than at Heathrow. Between 1975 and 1978 the annual rate of growth of passenger numbers was 6.9 per cent. at Heathrow compared with 10.1 per cent. at Stansted; the corresponding figures for air transport movements are 1.9 per cent. and 6.8 per cent.
