HC Deb 12 March 1979 vol 964 cc19-20W
Mr. Conlan

asked the Secretary of State for Transport when he expects to announce the results of the review of the 1973 Noise Insulation Regulations.

Mr. Horam

There will be no general announcement about the results of the review. As was announced by the Department last October, individual road schemes are being re-examined in the light of the revised interpretation of the 1973 regulations and insulation will be offered to further properties found to qualify.

I understand that my hon. Friend is particularly concerned about the entitlement of houses in Cole Gardens, Felling, arising from the improvement of part of the A. 6115—previously A. 184. A revised noise survey should be completed next month. There will then remain the task of identifying eligible rooms before insulation can be offered.
