§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what approaches she has received from the National Union of Students for increases of 25 per cent. in student grants; and what action she proposes to take in connection with this.
§ Mr. OakesThe National Union of Students has submitted a document on student grants, which includes a proposal for an increase of about 25 per cent. in the main rates of grant, and has discussed it with officers of my Department. Its proposals will be considered by my right hon. Friend as part of her review of student awards. It is hoped to announce the result of the review next month.
