§ Mr. Dykesasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what action he plans to take to promote the idea of the European Export Board to be established in the Economic Community companies during and insurance cover for European Economic Community companies during contracts in third countries; and if he will press for this board to be set up in London.
§ Mr. Robert SheldonI understand that the Commission has recently been pressing on with the further studies on its proposals to set up a European export bank which was requested by the European Parliament in May 1977. The Commission hopes to report shortly. It would be premature to prejudge the outcome of these further studies which we have always argued were necessary before the proposals could be properly evaluated.
