asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what lengths of the canal system in the West Midlands will be closed to navigation during the summer.

The following sections will remain closed: Tardebigge and Kings Norton (Wast Hill) Tunnels on the Worcester and Birmingham Canal, Netherton Tunnel on the Birmingham Canal Navigations and Braunston Tunnel on the Grand Union Canal.

In addition, the following sections are likely to remain closed for at least part of the summer: Tyrley Cutting on the Shropshire Union Canal, Evitts Valley Embankment at Solihull on the Grand Union Canal and the terminal length of the Coventry Arm on the Coventry Canal.
