asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs haw many Banabans have been arrested recently on their homelands; what charges have been brought against them; and when they will be brought to trial.

We understand that 41 Banabans were charged on 19 to 21 February and remanded for two weeks. Charges vary from one case to another, but include arson, attempted arson, criminal trespass, taking part in a riot, assault, conspiracy to commit a felony, intimidation and destruction of machinery.
