HL Deb 06 March 1979 vol 399 c168WA
Lord O'HAGAN

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What steps they are taking to explore the possibilities of alternative uses for Historic Buildings as suggested by the Secretary of State for the Environment on 28th November 1978.

Baroness STEDMAN

Lord Montagu is to chair a small committee which will consider how to encourage new uses for buildings of historic or architectural interest. The secretariat of this committee will be provided by the British Tourist Authority, and it will take both written and oral evidence. The first meeting will be on 14th March.
