Mr. Baker

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will estimate, in the case of each quasi-autonomous non-governmental organisation for which he is responsible (a) its total expenditure in the current year and (b) its total expenditure on administration, accommodation and general services, defined to include items such as salaries, telephones and postage, rent, rates, heating, travelling, transport, office equipment, etc.

There is no official definition of the term quasi-autonomous nongovernmental organisation. The bodies to which my right hon. Friend makes paid appointments are included in the directory of paid public appointments made by Ministers. Details of the breakdown of estimated expenditure on administration,
