HC Deb 05 March 1979 vol 963 c401W
Mr. Channon

asked the Attorney-General when the Government are likely to be able to respond to the recommendations of the Royal Commission on civil liability and compensation for personal injury.

The Solicitor-General

The Government are studying the many complex and far-reaching recommendations in the report of the Royal Commission and is taking account of the views expressed during the debate on the report in this House on 17 November 1978. It seems likely, however, that the Government will announce their final conclusions on a number of separate occasions, since some of the recommendations of the Royal Commission, for example those concerning industrial injury benefits and liability for defective products, have led to further study of the particular subjects.
