§ Mr. Dodsworthasked the Secretary of State for the Environment when a circular was last issued to local authorities concerning their statutory duties with regard to the reviews of definitive maps; and if he will issue a new circular as soon as possible.
§ Mr. MarksThree circulars have been issued since 1968 the most recent being circular 123/77 dated 12 December 1977.
It would be unhelpful to issue further advice at a time when proposals by the Department for modifying the system—which have been placed in the Library of the House—are under active consideration.
