§ Mr. Cryerasked the Secretary of State for Industry, pursuant to his reply to the hon. Member for Keighley of 14 February on the De Lorean car, whether it was not thought appropriate that the expertise of members of the vehicle division of his Department should be used in assessing the De Lorean car.
§ Mr. ConcannonI have been asked to reply.
The Department of Industry was fully consulted during the negotiations with the De Lorean Motor Company. As I informed my hon. Friend in answer to his previous question on 14 February, detailed technical assessment of vehicle prototypes was not considered to be a necessary requirement for the effective evaluation of the De Lorean project.—[Vol. 962, c. 584.]
