§ Mr. Hoyleasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will provide a detailed list, by item and amount of money, showing all extra payments made to consultants over and above their National Health Service salary and including fees for work done on behalf of the non-National Health Service employers such as post-mortems and drug tests for the police.
§ Mr. MoyleDetails of the amounts received by consultants over and above their NHS salaries are not available. I will, however, send my hon. Friend details of fees paid for individual items of NHS work that are set out in the terms and conditions of service, together with a list of fees agreed by the Civil Service Department and British Medical Association for services undertaken by consultants for Government Departments but which fall outside the scope of the Health Service.
