§ Mr. Spellerasked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will immediately review the Baking Industry (Hours of Work) Act, in the light of impending proceedings under the Act where there is no union labour involved.
§ Mr. MayhewMy right hon. Friend has decided that the operation of the Act should be reviewed. It is one of the "relevant statutory provisions" of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 which I have already invited the Health and Safety Commission to consider in the light of the Equal Opportunities Commission's report on health and safety legislation. As I have already intimated to the Health and Safety Commission, I shall now be asking it for its views on the operation of the Baking Industry (Hours of Work) Act 1954.
