§ Mr. Shersbyasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will publish in the Official Report in tabular form a list of (a) all services which local authorities are required by statute to provide without charge and (b) those services for which a charge may be made at the discretion of the local authority concerned.
§ Mr. KingSuch a list could be compiled only with disproportionate effort. Generally local authorities may304W not charge for services unless they have statutory powers to do so.
