§ Mr. Norman LamontNo. Local authorities should decide priorities for themselves having due regard for each possible application of solar energy technology. The Government are, however, already providing funds under their research, development and demonstration programmes to encourage the development to the demonstration stage of alternative energy sources including solar heating systems.
