§ Mr. Cryerasked the Secretary of State for Employment (1) what proposals he has for improving existing regulations following his examination of "Fatal Accidents in Construction 1977";
(2) whether he has received any proposals on legislation from the Health and Safety Commission following publication of "Fatal Accidents in Construction 1977"; and, if not, whether the Commission has indicated that it intends to make proposals.
§ Mr. Mayhew, pursuant to the reply [Official Report, 25 June 1979], gave the following answer:
Comprehensive regulations about safety on construction sites already exist. The Health and Safety Commission has not yet submitted to me any proposals for further legislation on construction sites, but should it consider it appropriate to do so I will be glad to consider its proposals.
